Krishnamacharya Lineage

Tirumalai Krishnamacharya (1888–1989), often called the father of modern yoga, revived and reshaped āsana practice in early-20th-century Mysore. His students — B. K. S. Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois, T. K. V. Desikachar, Indra Devi and A. G. Mohan — seeded most globally taught postural methods.
